Atelier Côte Guilloché 38
$4,500
The Guilloché 38 is the piece in the Atelier Côte line where the dial does most of the work. A 38mm rose gold case, 7.8mm thick, frames a silvered dial hand-engraved on a rose-engine lathe in a tight clous de Paris pattern — the small pyramidal hobnail figure that the French ateliers have used since the eighteenth century. Each dial is cut by a single guillocheur over the course of a day, and the variation between blanks is part of why the watch can only be made in small numbers.
Applied rose gold Breguet numerals sit above the guilloché field, with a pair of pomme hands in blued steel and a small seconds register at six. A Swiss automatic movement provides 50 hours of power reserve, with a hand-finished bridge visible through the sapphire case back. Water resistance is 30m.
This is the Atelier Côte watch chosen for the kind of occasion where the wearer expects another watch enthusiast across the table — a wedding, a milestone dinner, a long lunch where the cuff is rolled back over coffee. Mounted on a hand-stitched alligator strap with a butterfly deployant in matched rose gold.
